7 men and a stripper.....

Okay that was wrong but I had to vent. Frenchie Davis booted for damaging the American Idol image. In the new Hollywood of Britney, Paris and Lindsey..the guys can let it all hang out..literally. I think FOX knew about David's past jobs and all of the Boobilicious photos of the previously mentioned ladies...and using it as publicity....hmmm, I guess it worked.
American Idol: Top 8 Guys.
This week is dedicated to the 80’s – I absolutely love love love the 80’s.
The Jackson’s owned the 80’s. Michael Jackson ruled with Thriller and then the one and only Ms Jackson had Control.
I was very excited to experience this flashback 80’s style. Then HE sang “ Wake me up before you Gogo”. (please see my special ode to Luke for my thoughts on that.)
David Archilletta can play the keys?! I didn’t see that coming. I don’t like you kid but you can blow. Now you can sing AND play the piano? Show me the cabbage patch or the achy breaky and I may actually vote for you.
Minus the Naomi Campbell walk, the super tight skinny jeans, the camera voguing and the purple streaks. Danny has made it another week. I love this 2k8 remake of MY FAVORITE 80’s song EVER! Tainted Love!!! I am going to ITUNES right now and pluck down .99. ((Damn it)). TMTH (too much too handle)..the boy is funny….give him a comedy instead of a record deal.
Danny Hernandez could have sang the Barney theme song this week. The idol judges threw soft balls at him this week. (pun intended). I have to say, it takes balls to perform after a scandal- he gets 10 points for showing up. Even Simon was nice…wait until next week.
OMG – David Cook turned a song by Nicole Richie’s pop into a rock song?! I am shocked and awed and maybe liked it. Original –A++
Chikezie dared to do Whitney Houston?! That’s all that need to be said. 2 thumbs up!
Scandal !! 2008

From Comcast news:
Hernandez to Stay on 'Idol' Despite Past
By DERRIK J. LANG, APTue Mar 4, 4:24 PM EST
David Hernandez won't be stripped of his chance to compete on "American Idol." A person close to the show, who is not authorized to comment publicly and asked not to be identified, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that there were no plans to remove Hernandez from the Fox singing competition — despite the semifinalist's past as a male stripper.
The 24-year-old from Glendale, Ariz., once worked as an adult entertainer at Dick's Cabaret in Phoenix, appearing fully nude and performing lap dances for the club's "mostly male" clientele, strip club manager Gordy Bryan told the AP on Monday.
In 2003, semifinalist Frenchie Davis was dismissed from "Idol" because of her appearance on an adult Web site, but Antonella Barba remained in the competition last year after racy photos of her surfaced on the Internet. The source who confirmed that Hernandez will remain said Davis' situation was different because of the site's age-themed content.
Fox and the producers declined to comment on Hernandez, who was scheduled to perform a song from the '80s in a live telecast Tuesday with the other male singers as the semifinalists are narrowed down this week to the final 12 contestants. All the singers, including Hernandez, have been unavailable for interviews.
Dick's Cabaret manager Bryan said he was aware that Hernandez was a vocalist, but that Hernandez never sang at the club. Bryan said he now believes Hernandez stopped working at the strip club on Sept. 30, 2007, because of his participation in "Idol."
Hernandez, who originally auditioned for the show in San Diego on July 30, 2007, has never been referred to as a stripper or former stripper during the competition. Last week, he earned rave reviews from the judges after his performance of The Temptations' "Papa Was a Rolling Stone."
On a video posted on AmericanIdol.com, Hernandez said he broke the lease on his apartment and lived out of his car before auditioning for "Idol." And, when asked in a Q&A posted on the site which talent would he would most like to have if he couldn't sing, Hernandez responded: "Dancing! I'm horrible at that."

D*mn, No Robbie, say it aint so!

Does a wig make the rocker? No, Chris Daughtry proved that a "shiner" was just as cool as Bo Bice's flowing locks on the road to rocker status. Then why why why are there reports from TMZ, that Robbie ...my boy, my dawg..is sporting a wig? It aint right....and how long will it last. Yes, yes..I love my wig and weave wearing DIVAs but the that comes with a boa and a pair of heals....but then again we have 2 months to go.
But if i had to pick my top 3 ladies this week...

I had to replay Brooke’s renditions of "You’re so vain" when the judges gave it praise across the board. She did very well. She has the aw shucks country girl thing happening. It will be fun to see her in the future rounds
maybe rap night.
Little Ramiele has a big voice in that little package. Love her! Singing “Don’t leave me this way”- a 70’s diva classic gave her my vote for the favorite of the week for the ladies.
I will give Aisa’h’s my third favorite female for the week…mainly for the attitude and the new weave. Although “ All by myself” has been a show stopper on may previous IDOL shows (Latoya London). Aisa’h couldn’t reach the high notes but I give her points for giving it a go.
Wasn't feeling the ladies

The GALS
None of the ladies blew me away this week. Maybe both groups were so nervous about last week's show that they took it easy this week. I was paying more attention to Paula's new technique of rebuting most of Simon's rants with a Paula followup.
Simon has pegged Carly as the one to beat. She is truly one of two rocker chicks but I don’t see the "IT factor" yet. I have my eye on her mainly because she had a record deal. I am still processing on how I feel about that.
Syesha did one of my favorite songs "Me and Mrs Jones" but she lost me in the middle. One of my favorites last week didn’t blow mw away this time at all.
Since I have dubbed this season as the season of the rockers. Scary nurse aka Amanda was a favorite during the auditons but so far she hasn’t delivered. It would be interesting to see a rocker chick in the top 5.
I think Alexandrea maybe going home – I loved that her gr8 grandma with her in the auditions but she was nervous during this performance but I hope she stays.

2 "dawgs" (and a puppy) that ROCKED it!!

The best performances for men’s night were the last.
Chikizie, gave a powerful and soulful performance that caught my attention. Which was a challenge because I never heard that song before – great job- IPOD worthly.
David Cook also got it from Simon but again, who cares. David is this years rocker, dare I say.... better then Chris Daughtry?! (gasp) All Simon had was to go after David’s pre performance clip? Give me a break, the writer’s have returned to work, give them something to do.
Lastly, David Archiletta really really really irritates me BUT I have to give it to the kid…he is good. I thought I was ready but I wasn’t ready. Let’s cancel the rest of the season and give the Idol to little David.
What is up with Ryan Seacrest not saying Simon’s name during the goodbyes…it’s annoying (( but funny )).

The "dawgs" were Duds this week.
American Idol: The Fellas :Top 10
Wow, what a difference a week makes.
The guys sucked.
Maybe they have undiagnosed flu, because one after another I just shook my head in disappointment. That is not to say this wasn't one of my most favorite episodes ever.
Season after season we watch a few smartmouth kids with no talent give Simon a taste of his own medicine. Tonight HAD to be the first time Simon got pissed. He repeatedly announce that his opinions were HIS opinions?! Since when does Simon justify a rant..it was weird and funny but when Simon pronounced that he knew the rules of the show..it was classic. I told someone last week, Simons’s job is done, all he has to do now is make his quips for tv. The viewing audience is in charge and there “AINT” a damn thing he can do about it (ie: Sanjaya).
Although it is only week two of the down and dirty competition, It is clear the fellas are resigned to the fact that so many non winners come out getting PAID. The back talk with Simon, the instruments, the tacky tired tshirts..what show is this? That said I am enjoying the season so far..except….
Michael the Aussie tennis player was kinda bland even while singing a classic rock tune. (blah).
Sadly, funky dreds Jason has fallen out of my top 5. Less talk and more singing would be a great tip. The more he spoke the more I regretted last weeks’ post (maybe I can go back and edit).
Jason also was a great example of props being in the way of the vocals.
I am not allowed to say anything bad about Luke for@ least 3 more weeks. (I hope he lasts that long ‘cause my tongue is bleeding).
Lastly, Danny aka Sanjaya part Duex. Danny ruined a remake from “Lufa Vandross”, but thanks to my DVR..I could fastforward right through it.

Gone home

As Simon says "Americer got it right.." None of these performances stood out for me. There were a few others that should have been here but we have a long way to go. Although, how could Simon tell Colton not to continue singing when be made Top24 out of 200,000. Sometimes Simon should "Shut up"! Again, I will focus on the performance. The Simonism were funny during the auditions but now it's just "Jerry Spinger talk"
After 6 seasons Paula Abdul finally decided to make a comeback and use her Idol contacts. it looks like she may have a hit on her hands.
Lastly, what is up with Ryan's sign off by thanking Randy, Paula and then skipping Simon at the end of each live show? It's actually funny.
Week one down!

Will it be ladies' night on Idol?
American Idol Top12
The Ladies
The show started with the disclaimer that a lot of the gals had the flu. So…. much for Fox finding the best doctor’s to keep their franchise thriving.
The Ladies
The show started with the disclaimer that a lot of the gals had the flu. So…. much for Fox finding the best doctor’s to keep their franchise thriving.
Simon was in a usual foul-Cowell mood. The fact that the camera kept showing him ask Paula “What did he say” was a clue that he was not paying attention to the show. Ryan Seacrest only flu-outed 2 of the ladies but most of them where only “ho hum”, but there were a few diamonds in the rough.
Alaina is one of my favorites. Like Chakizi, she sang the same Diana Ross song that I still didn’t recongnize. When I saw the end of the show, I thought Carrie Underwood was making an appearance.I am sure her likeness to Alaina is an accident.
Amanda, The rocker nurse was a bit scary and I was sure she would not make the show. She looks like she could be the oldest idol ever.
Asia’h is another one of my favorites- I am sure her back story makes great TV but she is a good performer.
Lil Ramiele has made my top 2. She is my surprise underdawg on the girls side. She wore it out.
Syesha is my pick for the best female. Powerhouse vocals but she would have to bring it every week. The Simon curse may be in effect. History shows once Simon makes a pick, they are doomed.
Carly is a pro and should not be on the Idol show, just saying. She ain’t lived up to the hype yet but she is all over the news for being a ringer. She wont win but it will be interesting to see just how far she goes.
