Umm I don't think she was ready to go......

Brooke gave us the breakdown of the season. I am actually shocked she made it through the final song. The "I'm done and ready to walk off the stage" was a first for the top 5.

Lastly, this just goes to show, at this point what is the point of watching. The gals are voting for "Goofy" (i will never say his name again) cementing his place in top 3.

Last word on "Diamond" night.

When the show began, Ryan announced that they were going to cram as much as they could into the one hour show. The show seemed rushed and un organized and it was a bit unnerving ..at first. That's when I realized, the IDOL Gods have finally answered my prayers. Due to the IDOLS singing's two performances, the judge's responses (the waste that is ) were condensed. Yes!
I am not a huge Neil Diamond fan but I have a few songs commited to memory and "America" is one of my top songs of all time. I couldn't wait for DC to make it his own but lil Archie took it and pissed it away.
Paula showed the world once again that her sippy cup is filled with crazy koolaid. Since the show was in condensed form - the judges did a lightning round of reviews AFTER all 5 performed the first time. Poor Paula gave Jason indept critiques on his first AND second song ..even though..he only sang one...Sweet!
The review after the article and my next prayer to the IDOL Gods.

Lord pleeese let this be true...Jason was first this week!

Performing first is a disadvantage for American Idol contestants

Over seven seasons on American Idol, those who performed first were more likely to go home than others, while those who performed last have never been eliminated that same week. That’s the result of an investigation by USA TODAY and WhatNotToSing.com, a site that collects data related to the show. (What Not To Sing’s web site has the raw data.)

In 69 finals episodes, 20 singers in the No. 1 spot have been voted off, seven more than would be expected based on statistical probability,” the paper reports. Perhaps more significantly, “no one in the 11th or 12th spot in a finals week has been eliminated,” and “only one (Kristy Lee Cook) has been in the bottom three.”

Producers admit they arrange the contestants to craft an entertaining show, but executive producer Ken Warwick told the paper that the performance order is “worked out with two things in mind: where the kid (performed) last week, and if it’s a slow, ‘dirgey’ ballad, I try not to open with that.”

Why are those singing at the end more likely to stay than those who perform first? The paper suggests, among other reasons, that ratings data might hold the answer, as “Idol’s ratings grow throughout each show, with more viewers — and potential voters — watching singers at the end than at the beginning. On April 8, Idol went from 22.8 million viewers in the first half-hour to 26.4 million in the second, a 16% increase.”

DAVID COOK

Song one: "I am alive" - Didn't know it, but DC does what DC does and rocked it out. Another great performance from the man who WILL be in the top two.
"All I really need it you" was DC's second number. Dude did a DIVA mode tribute and changed up the tempo, the outfit and the guitar for his part two.
...Very Nice!
-DJRR

Syeshia!

My Sy Sy came with it with another power performance. She is all DIVA for this years season. Better then Fantasia, Latoya and Jennifer Hudson. She has met the challenges and proved why she is in the top 5.
her version of "Hello again" was smoking hot!
-----------------------------
Syeshia's second song was the bomb dilly yo'. "Thank the Lord for the night time" was one of my favorites for the night. She brought soul and church to IDOL. I will have this on the IPOD by dawn. (you know how I do what I do)).
Simon said it was the most forgettable performance for the night which Proved he is full of #%$#!

Archie

This show is FIXED. There is No way the judges liked both of those performances.
--
As we get to the final weeks of IDOl, I have lost all patience with Archie and the kid gloves review he has been getting all season..
--
His father broke him down in public for a reason ..sympathy vote. I am going to make a BOLD prediction. Archie AINT going to win!
Archie did a good job with "Sweet Caroline" okay for me. it didn't make me cry and throw my undies on stage but he will make it back next week.
Song two: America - I like the last 30 seconds. Of course the judges licked his butt and kissed each cheek. Come on Finale and get this over with.

Brooke!

Brooke wants to go home. She sang I'm a believer.
Now THAT wsa kariyoki, carnival, sideshow & amatueristic. All words Simon would have used if the show wasn't in a rush. A mess, she should have stopped and started over with a new song.
Brooke came back with "I am" and hopefully make the crowd forget the first song. It was better then good. Even Simon said well done - not that I care what he says.
-DJRR

JASON

Gotta go,
Gotta go
Gotta go right now!
------------------------
Jason's first song was "Forever in blue Jeans". Watching him rehearse this in front of Neil was embarrassing. Goofy forgot the words in rehearsal as well as the live show. Due to the edited chatfest, he was not called out. Do you really want me to comment on his performance? It sucked! None the less the gals screamed like they were getting his phone number after the show. I hope Carly's and Michael Johns' fan switch their votes to anyone but Jason. Yes, I am so irritated with Jason - found this old photo of him, sans dreds. (I bet they are fake).
Oh wait....Jason's second song September morn ws WORST then the first one. He was smoking something cause he was AWEFULLLLLLLLLL! The judges, even Paula let him have it..Just OKAY from Randy, Paula said it was safe and Simon said it was forgettable...BUT again, the screaming gaggle of gals will carry his goofy ass to the top 3.

.....David Cooke now unavailiable frm Amazon

From Fox 5:

'Idol': One CD Axed, Another Remains
"American Idol" contestant David Cook’s album,

"Analog Heart," is completely gone from Amazon.com’s MP3 library.

I told you on Tuesday that after we discovered it was the No. 1 downloaded album on Amazon’s service, "American Idol" had it partially pulled. The cover and a listing for it still remained. But as of Tuesday night, "Analog Heart" is gone like it never existed.

But one other current contestant still has an album that can be bought or downloaded. Carly Smithson, nee Hennessy, made a much-loved CD in 2001 for Geffen Records. Called "Ultimate High," Smithson/Hennessy’s CD was produced by the New Radicals’ Gregg Alexander. "Ultimate High" still is listed under Carly Hennessy, so it’s only No. 127 on the Amazon downloader.

The story imate High" was a memorable one in the record business. Geffen/MCA sunk $2.2 million into Carly, signed her to a six-album contract and the whole thing imploded.

"Ultimate High" sold only 400 copies, and Hennessy was dropped by the label and sent back into obscurity at age 17. The story was covered by many outlets, including the Wall Street Journal.

So how is it that Carly Smithson (her married name) is competing on "American Idol"? Good question. I suppose the reasoning is, she’s started from scratch. Weirder still: She’s Irish. She’s not American. Doesn’t that make her "Irish Idol"? Not that I’m begrudging Smithson anything. She’s a damn fine singer, she’s suffered, paid her dues and deserves a career.

Naomi Judd dishes dirt on Archie's pops

Naomi Judd Calls David Archuleta’s Dad ‘The Worst Stage Dad’

Is David Archuleta’s dad a pushy stage parent?

After recent Internet reports suggested that the American Idol contestant’s father is a stage dad, Jeff Archuleta is facing new accusations from one of music’s most famous moms, Naomi Judd.

The country star, who appeared as a judge on Star Search when David was a contestant several years ago, criticized his dad on the Today show Thursday.

“I want to give a shout out to [David's] dad. Leave him alone,” she said during an interview. “His dad is like the worst stage dad.”

But not everyone agrees. Singer Diane Gordan, a friend and mentor to David, responded to Judd’s remarks, telling PEOPLE that Jeff Archuleta isn’t the bad guy that is being portrayed.
“There’s no way I would feel comfortable being around this man if I felt he was a bad person to his kid,” Gordon said. “Jeff is a very loving and supporting dad. It’s easy when you hear one person say something about someone, taking it and blowing it out of proportion, and then it just spirals out into a whole different story and keeps escalating.” –Jennifer Wren

...it shoulda been Brooke or Jason!!

Who is my favorite American Idol of all time?

..and Michael Johns had a deal as well Jeez!

From Comcast:

That’s the question a FoxNews columnist is asking after Cook’s loosely mentioned solo album “Analog Heart” from 2006 suddenly launched to No. 1 on “most downloaded” list on Amazon.com’s mp3 download service over the weekend.

It isn’t a secret that several of the contestants on this season of “American Idol” have had record deals and have recorded their own albums in the past. The list includes Carly Smithson (most famously), Kristy Lee Cook and Brooke White. But this is the first time that one of the contestants’ past albums is being promoted to the point of topping a legitimate download service’s chart such as Amazon’s.

“If ‘Analog Heart’ is now being offered official to proper downloading services – and not on just mysterious indie platforms – then Cook has to be behind it,” FoxNews’ Roger Friedman writes.
What does that mean for Cook’s standing in the competition? Is this just some strange way of working the system since he isn’t technically under a label or management contract – and that’s the only real limitation “Idol” contestants face? Cook’s album was released under his own label “David Cook Records,” but should that matter? He’s making money off of it right now.

And what about all those viewers who are down on Smithson because of her record deal as a teenager more than half a decade ago? Will they now turn against Cook, or flock to Amazon to download a copy?

"Voting for the worst"..didnt work this time

Worst" Couldn't Keep Cook On "Idol"

NEW YORK, April 17, 2008(CBS)
Kristy Lee Cook has been among the bottom three vote-getters on "American Idol" more than once, but she's always managed to survive for another week.
Despite praise from Mariah Carey and her position as VoteForTheWorst.com's contestant of choice, Cook was kicked off the show Wednesday night.
The 24-year-old resident country singer from Selma, Ore., was the latest casualty as the Fox sing-off narrowed the competition to six finalists.

Though guest mentor Carey said Cook's rendition of "Forever" gave her chills, judge Simon Cowell was not so impressed. "You didn't give me chills," said Cowell. "I think you managed with what you could, it was a little bit whiny at times. It wasn't ever going to be an advantage for you." Cowell acknowledged that Cook made a good song choice but added that her performance "just wasn't that great." Brooke White and Syesha Mercado joined Cook with the lowest number of votes on Wednesday's results show.
" Cook wiped away tears, but took the eviction in stride. She directed her reprisal of "Forever" to Cowell, who grinned awkwardly, taking her hand at one point. The telecast also featured performances by "Idol" also-ran Elliott Yamin and Carey, who sang "Bye Bye" from her new album "EMC2."

Mariah night on American IDOL!!!

Yes, yes, yes,yes,yes,yes...notice that's 6 yes's.
Mariah Carey night was much better then I could have imagined.
I only have a handful of DIVAS!
Miss Ross
Miss Jackson
Vanessa William
Mariah "Curry"
Madonna
Mariah is not only the perfomer of all of these hits (18 number 1's) but she also wrote most of them. MC will be getting a % of all of the downloads the idols sang this week. You go gurl. (I still can't explain the boob job..she' didnt need it but I digress).
Yet again, the judges critique proved that their bit in the show is a total waste. I actually walked out of the room during one of Simon's rants.
You want an American Idol shocker? Check out DJRR's favorites for the week!

Syesha.....

Sy is my favorite for the week. I think she has gotten a raw deal fo singing power DIVA songs from the judges and this time she got permission and did it well. "Vanishing" is one of my top five Mariah Carey songs of all times. I know this song, every word and every note..Syesha did a great job on this.

Kristy Lee Cooke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristy Lee Cooke yes, I didn't make fun of her name this week because her performance this week was "OUTSTANDING". ((damn, I musta really bumped my head)). I love this song and KLC did it justice with her country twang. Mariah said she gave her chill, Simon said he didnt get chills...which one has 18 number one songs..Hmmm

Don't tell anyone I spent $1.05 from itunes for her full studio version. Yes Yes Yes

David Cooke

...sang you will always be my baby. I am waiting for Chris Cornell to take credit for this rocked out version. What's left to say..Bo Bice, Chris Daughtry better make room for all that is David Cooke. The King of American Idol 7!

Archie

I still find "Archie" irritating, and those leather pants didn't help one bit. Everytime I see him perform - I see his father in the wings with a rubber hose ready to.......

The Washington Post called Archie "lil Elmo" and the judges patted him on the head as usual after his performance. I have to give dude two thumbs up for singing a song that was originally a duet. have you seen that done before? It can get ugly. Now Archie has proven he can do Whitney and Mariah by singing When you believe.
Oh, I guess I liked it. -DJRR

Carley....

Carley proved that she can do pop and rock. I loved that she dug in the MC library and sang one of my favorite's from her collection. She did a great job compared to the original. Once again, Simon proved that he has to fight for air time and say something irrelevant. Carley's " I miss Michael John" went a bit long but I like her and liked her this week. -DJRR

Brooke/Jason

Jason sang I dont wanna cry and that's exactly what I wanted to do. Did't like it. Don't like him.
Moving on................

Brooke messed up that one. "Hero" is one of MC's biggest hits. Brooke seemed to rush through it and stopped to catch her breath all the way through. it wasn't the worst of teh niht but I think it's time for her to step aside this week. Although, Simon comparing Brooke's performance to a burger bun...Pulease!
