Beatle juice, beatle juice..Beatle juice

Ryan made a point at the beginning of the season to announce that Paul,Yoko and Michael Jackson finally broke down and let Idol sing songs of the Beatles.

Top 12.

Got to get you into my life – Syesha, she did a good job with the song but it didn’t blow me away. This is one of my favorite Beatle’s tunes ( I only know 4 ) so I will give her a pass. She gets a minus on the flashdance outfit but it’s a “sanging” competition. Simon is on crack with the positive review at the get go, something must be wrong.

Chikezie – Since when did the Beatles sing folk? Oh wait it was a rendition. "She’s a woman" as another new song to the ears of DJRR. The crowd was on their feet. I guess it was good..original. Two thumbs up. I see now why Chiki was doing the Cuba dance. Simon was smiling and full of praise once again..huh what?! But Ryan wiping off the sweat was ……um ..interesting.

Ramiele – maybe joining Danny on the home front. My Ramy was boring. I didn’t know this song, nor did I care. She hit the very last note but by that time it was too late. Oh Simon was back and ripped her a new one.

Jason and his dreds kept the bordom flowing (no wonder I never woke up). If I fell (If I fell asleep). I see him cutting those dreds my April…. Next!

I never liked Carley mainly because she had a record deal BUT this week…my favorite Beatle song EVAH “ Come together” and the black stalettos made her tops in my book this week. I need a longer version for the IPOD. I still think she has an unfair advantage but this week I will let her have it. You go gurl.

David Cook is my under dog pick for top 2, the year of the rocker reigns true. Two thumbs up.

Brooke made me change my top 3 to top 4. Her rendition of “Let it be” had me looking for my lighter and raise my hand in the air. Yes Yes Yes. Brooke played the piano without her shoes. The funniest moment of the night was Ryan holding Brooke’s heels and Simon being Simon, insinuating she may not get the back…too funny.

David Hernandez is getting cocky. Ooops ...maybe I shouldn’t have said that but…he is milking each moment like it’s his last. He survived the annual Idol scandal and seems to be enjoying the attention. He was never one of my favorites. I only watch now to see if Simon slips up again with a second stripper joke. The judges were not amused. Simon said No no no. Oh he sang “I saw her standing there”

Amanda – If I was to change my top 3 to a top 5 Amanda will be in there. She has won me back over. She has a Pat Benatar thing going. Love it. I know she will be here next week.

Michael Johns - boring, moving on.

Kristy Lee Cook’s performance was better with the mute button on.

I hope David Archelleta get’s a Jiffy commercial out of this. From now on I will refer to him as Archie. The kid is going to win but can we limit his behind the scenes clips? He tried to work out “We can work it out”..but didn’t…mainly because he forgot the words. Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Sorry about that.. but he is going to win.

TOP 12: Let the games begin !

There are a few in the top 12 who ahould have gone home weeks ago. There sre some shoo ins and many many in the middle.
Who will go home this week?
I like to try new things- last night I tried to watch American Idol & sleep at the same time. You know how that went.
I was awaken from my slumber a few times. Chakizie celebrating judges rection by jumping the stage like Cuba Gooding at the Oscars, Rocker Cook and the blonde chick that should have left last week was rocking out to something. I also think I liked that rocker chick with the failed record deal. DJRR will do a speed review before the results show. Stay tuned

WOW ~ I didn't see those cuts coming.

I truly thought Danny's {fans} would carry his butt at least to the top 5. Shocked and Awed that he is gone - who is going to flirt with Ryan now? I am sure Simon had a hand in avoiding the return of Sanjaya!

Again the water works are getting old - c'mon now. Although, I am sure David H and Ramielle were crying with America's choice of saying it's okay to post rauchy pics on your facebook page (I should do that on mine) or stripping for cash is cool due to the economy (maybe I should do that)

There is some chick who made it pass that I can't remember but she will be gone next week, she was the best of the worst.

We'll miss Aisa'h, Danny and maybe even Luke but now the show gets interesting.

C-ya!

Asia'h -(((Gasp, that just ain't right))

LUKE! ! !

Kady was never on my radar. America got it right.

DJRR's pick for this week's top ladies

American Idol: Top 8 Gals

For most of the previous seasons our judges frowned on the contestants daring to sing a song from one of the “power divas” Whitney, Mariah & Celine. That all changed a few years back when LaToya London powered “all by myself”. That may have opened the door, although we see very few wannabe Mariah’s – this week, the gals and Chakizie dared to tribute Whitney Houston and I liked it.

Asia’h showed Luke what a “fun” song should sound like with Whitney’s I wanna dance with somebody. Simon said it wasn’t better the original..umm duh? Great job.

Amanda aka (former) Scary nurse toned down the hair and makeup and was HOT HOT HOT. Didn’t know the song but she rocked it. Absolutely my favorite performance from the week guys and gals.

Unlike David Hernadez (stripper boy) – my Ramiele fell off her game, she actually was upset about her scandalous? Photos hitting the web and it showed in her lackluster performance of “take a look at me now”. Hopefully she can get it together next week.

After 7 seasons, the top vote getters seem to be the ones who rearrange the song entirely and make it work.

Brooke took another one of my 80’s favorites “Love is a battlefield” to the acoustic level and slowed it down and made it work. 2 thumbs up.

Who would DARE sing the song that put Whitney on the map? Syesha made me flash back to the 80’s hearing this song for the first time in the halls of the school of the arts. I liked it for sentimental reasons, daring to do a Whitney and making it work. - DJRR

Commercial Break Janet reaches the Top of the charts

Ms. Jackson's Discipline has debuted at number one, becoming her first chart-topping album since her pre-wardrobe-malfunctioning days, when All for You reigned supreme seven years ago.

Discipline is the controlmeister's 10th studio album but her first for Island Def Jam.

ODE to LUKE!

LUKE, why did you make my break my vow? I tried to like you. You are the closest I have ever come to knowing someone on American Idol.....but

Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.
Friends don’t date their friends ex’s.
Friends don’t criticize another friend’s college classmates- who made it to the top 12 of American Idol. UNLESS, he sings “ Wake me up before you FN GoGo” on national television. (My ears are still bleeding)

George Michael hasn’t sang “Wake me up....." in 20 years for a reason. That is one song that should never ever ever be covered again.
( the following review is for entertainment purposes only and is not intended to offend anyone, especially those who may know Luke and/ or who’s parents own and operate the best meat producing farm in North American. Hopefully this honest and entertaining review won’t interrupt the writer’s receipt of beef BBQ & bacon..with that said)
LUKE SUCKED!

Embarrassing, and I “aint” talking about the story about being forced to wear a tutu as kid, the said photographic proof but trying to reach a George Micheal high note that was actually left in 1984. Luke forced Paula to lie ( she LOVED it?! What is love?! …now that is the song he shouda sang) and she stuttered and stammered but leave it to Simon to keep it real “Up in here.” The “I thought it was too girly” reference was a low blow but Simon made even me wince when he verbalized what I was thinking (Not hoping Ellen..just thinking )…. that Luke was done for the rest of the season.
There was a pro :
Luke’s goatee was working and he can always find a job as a stunt double for Luke Perry or Hugh Jackman.
Okay, I am done. The pain is over. (Relax and release )
I wonder if I need to become a vegan? - DJRR

ODE to David Hernandez.............

(( I am still gathering thoughts, concerns and maybe photos ))

7 men and a stripper.....

Okay that was wrong but I had to vent. Frenchie Davis booted for damaging the American Idol image. In the new Hollywood of Britney, Paris and Lindsey..the guys can let it all hang out..literally. I think FOX knew about David's past jobs and all of the Boobilicious photos of the previously mentioned ladies...and using it as publicity....hmmm, I guess it worked.
American Idol: Top 8 Guys.

This week is dedicated to the 80’s – I absolutely love love love the 80’s.
The Jackson’s owned the 80’s. Michael Jackson ruled with Thriller and then the one and only Ms Jackson had Control.
I was very excited to experience this flashback 80’s style. Then HE sang “ Wake me up before you Gogo”. (please see my special ode to Luke for my thoughts on that.)

David Archilletta can play the keys?! I didn’t see that coming. I don’t like you kid but you can blow. Now you can sing AND play the piano? Show me the cabbage patch or the achy breaky and I may actually vote for you.

Minus the Naomi Campbell walk, the super tight skinny jeans, the camera voguing and the purple streaks. Danny has made it another week. I love this 2k8 remake of MY FAVORITE 80’s song EVER! Tainted Love!!! I am going to ITUNES right now and pluck down .99. ((Damn it)). TMTH (too much too handle)..the boy is funny….give him a comedy instead of a record deal.

Danny Hernandez could have sang the Barney theme song this week. The idol judges threw soft balls at him this week. (pun intended). I have to say, it takes balls to perform after a scandal- he gets 10 points for showing up. Even Simon was nice…wait until next week.

OMG – David Cook turned a song by Nicole Richie’s pop into a rock song?! I am shocked and awed and maybe liked it. Original –A++

Chikezie dared to do Whitney Houston?! That’s all that need to be said. 2 thumbs up!

Scandal !! 2008

From Comcast news:

Hernandez to Stay on 'Idol' Despite Past

By DERRIK J. LANG, APTue Mar 4, 4:24 PM EST
David Hernandez won't be stripped of his chance to compete on "American Idol." A person close to the show, who is not authorized to comment publicly and asked not to be identified, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that there were no plans to remove Hernandez from the Fox singing competition — despite the semifinalist's past as a male stripper.

The 24-year-old from Glendale, Ariz., once worked as an adult entertainer at Dick's Cabaret in Phoenix, appearing fully nude and performing lap dances for the club's "mostly male" clientele, strip club manager Gordy Bryan told the AP on Monday.

In 2003, semifinalist Frenchie Davis was dismissed from "Idol" because of her appearance on an adult Web site, but Antonella Barba remained in the competition last year after racy photos of her surfaced on the Internet. The source who confirmed that Hernandez will remain said Davis' situation was different because of the site's age-themed content.

Fox and the producers declined to comment on Hernandez, who was scheduled to perform a song from the '80s in a live telecast Tuesday with the other male singers as the semifinalists are narrowed down this week to the final 12 contestants. All the singers, including Hernandez, have been unavailable for interviews.

Dick's Cabaret manager Bryan said he was aware that Hernandez was a vocalist, but that Hernandez never sang at the club. Bryan said he now believes Hernandez stopped working at the strip club on Sept. 30, 2007, because of his participation in "Idol."

Hernandez, who originally auditioned for the show in San Diego on July 30, 2007, has never been referred to as a stripper or former stripper during the competition. Last week, he earned rave reviews from the judges after his performance of The Temptations' "Papa Was a Rolling Stone."

On a video posted on AmericanIdol.com, Hernandez said he broke the lease on his apartment and lived out of his car before auditioning for "Idol." And, when asked in a Q&A posted on the site which talent would he would most like to have if he couldn't sing, Hernandez responded: "Dancing! I'm horrible at that."
